SUMMARY:Weekly Meeting – Rotary District Governor
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our weekly luncheon with the Rotary District Governor Steve Gage.\nSteve served for over 45 years in the fire service. His career started as a seasonal firefighter for both the Kern County Fire Department and the US Forest Service. After five seasons, he accepted a full-time appointment with the Kern County Fire Department. He served in every rank within the department including Fire Chief. Steve retired from Kern County and took a position within the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. He accepted a position with the US Forest Service in Washington DC working as a liaison to FEMA. Steve was then assigned as team leader for one of four full-time National Incident Management Teams. Steve ended his career as the Assistant Director of Operations at the National Interagency Fire Center here in Boise.\nSteve has been involved in Rotary for almost 25 years, with 4 different clubs in 3 states. He is currently a member of Boise Sunrise. He served on several committees both at the club and district level, been a club secretary, and served twice as club president during his Rotary journey. He is a Major Donor, a Benefactor to the Endowment Fund, a member of the Paul Harris Society and the Polio Plus Society.\nSteve is married to his wife Kathy who he met on a fire assignment as they were both members of on-call national incident management teams. They were serving together on the same team on 9/11 when Steve’s team was called to respond and assist with rescue operations at the Pentagon.
