DESCRIPTION:Chief Chris Dennison\nChief Dennison has over 20 years of progressive experience in law enforcement, including 13 years in supervisory and executive roles. Prior to becoming Chief of the Boise Police Department in September 2024, he served as Assistant Chief of Police for the Tucson AZ Police Department, where he led three divisions: Central Investigations, Counter Narcotics Alliance, and Forensics. As Chief of the Boise Police Department, Chris Dennison deeply values building strong relationships with community members, governmental departments, and various organizations to ensure a collaborative approach to public safety.\nChief Dennison holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University, graduating magna cum laude, and has completed several executive education programs, including the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), the Foundations of Public Leadership and the Southwest Leadership program at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.\nThese academic and professional experiences have equipped him with the strategic vision and leadership skills necessary to lead a forward-thinking police department like BPD.
