Her career has been dedicated to strengthening systems of care that promote\nstudent well-being, family stability, and equitable access to support services. Andrea’s\nexperience across diverse settings has given her a deep understanding of how collaboration\nbetween schools, families, and community partners can create lasting positive outcomes for\nyoung people.\nFor over half her career, Andrea has served within the Boise School District, where she provides\nboth direct support and leadership as a school social worker and supervisor for the district’s\nsocial work team. In her free time, Andrea can be found reading to complete the annual Ultimate\nBook Nerd challenge through the Boise Library or birding with her son and brother.\nJason Shanks\nCounseling Supervisor, Boise School District\nJason Shanks brings over a decade of leadership in school counseling and mental health to his role overseeing counseling services in the Boise School District. He holds master’s degrees in both Educational Leadership and Counseling, and is committed to a student-centered approach that honors student voice and advocacy. With a deep dedication to wellbeing and safety, Jason has played a pivotal role in tracking district-wide wellbeing data through student surveys, steering targeted responsive actions to the data, and co-leading the district’s suicide prevention initiatives prioritizing enhancing mental health literacy among all staff.\nBeyond his professional life, Jason is an outdoor enthusiast enjoying rafting, fishing, running, and quality family time with his wife and two children.\nCurious?
