SUMMARY:Idaho Access Project
DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Access Project works to eliminate physical, attitudinal, and policy barriers to ensure people with disabilities can live, work, and play in our neighborhoods and communities.\nOur speakers will be:\nJeremy Maxand, Treasurer\nJeremy is a co-founder of the IAP and the Executive Director of the Living Independence Network Corporation (LINC). Previously, he worked in emergency preparedness for the Idaho State Independent Living Council. Jeremy attended Boise State University where he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Applied Historical Research. He is a certified ADA Coordinator who has used a manual wheelchair since 1989. Jeremy serves on the City of Boise’s ADA Parking Advisory Committee, Ada County Highway District’s ADA Advisory Committee, and Valley Regional Transit’s Regional Advisory Council. Jeremy lives in Boise’s Barber Valley with his wife, Maria.\nErik Kingston, Secretary\nErik created IHFA’s Housing Information Referral Center and Housing Hotline in 1998 and has since contributed to statewide program, strategic planning and outreach initiatives. He represents IHFA on the Idaho Rural Partnership (IRP) board, Community Review Team, Western Community Assessment Network (WeCAN), and Idaho Fair Housing Forum. Erik teaches Housing as a Second Language each year through the NW Community Development Institute, and coordinates IHFA’s 2020-2021 Fair Housing Initiatives Program-Education Outreach Initiative (FHIP-EOI) grant to promote greater awareness of rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act. He created and provides content for RampUpIdaho.org and FairHousingForum.org with input from stakeholders, and manages housingidaho.com. He is certified as a Professional Community and Economic Development professional, joined the Idaho Access Project in 2020 as a Board Member and serves on the statewide ADA Recreation Committee.\n
