Outstanding Students Matt Wiggins, Timberline High School and Sara Christianson, Borah High School were honored by Boise Rotary.  Outstanding students are involved in their school, involved in the community and leaders among their peers.  Matt and Sara are no exception.
Matt is a go-getter with strong leadership skills and a passion for the student’s voice.  He has dedicted over 1500 hours of volunteer time to the student-run organization “One Stone.”  Serving as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Matt has helped to create and complete over 15 different service projects.  Among these is “The 24 Hour Think Challenge,” a design-thinking event that brought together 150 high school juniors to reinvent education in Idaho.  Matt is involved in local politics, working on the Open space and Clean Water Levy, and is a captain on the Timberline Debate Team.
Sara’s teachers agree that Sara sees high school education as a pathway to her future and she takes it very seriously.  She has taken many AP classes and maintained an excellent GPA.  She also participates in Cross Country, Track and Field, and Student Council as Treasurer.  Her service through the Student Council includes organizing a food drive for the Boise Rescue Mission and Adopt a Family program.  She volunteers helping handicapped and young children as they learn horse care and riding skills and works part time in a Real Estate Office.  Her greatest adventure, to date, was traveling to Costa Rica where she participated in a three-week program that focused on projects to help the local schools in Nosara.
