Notes From the January 14th Club Meeting

Happy Dollars

Kevin Learned was happy to see his former business partner and Rotarian Gary Mahn joining the meeting.  President Beth echoed the sentiment.

Jerry Schroeder was clearly ecstatic! He appreciated the iPad stand that Todd Fischer dropped off for him to more easily broadcast our maestro playing the national anthem.

Marianne Barker was happy to have volunteered at the Food Bank with her club and see what an amazing organization they are.

Fred Reed was happy to honor our "Pandemic President"  Beth Markley for her tremendous leadership during this challenging time.  He and his wife particularly enjoyed the Beer Tasting Social, a highlight of the holiday season.

Andy Erstad was happy to recognize "Rotary Fundamentals" of community and networking.  Kevin Learned introduced him to Jessica and her husband Decker; an example of how our many unique experiences help each other.  Andy was also thankful for the work of our speaker, Ramona Delmas.

Jeff Leedy was happy to see so many Rotarians attending and HEALTHY!  Not something to be taken for granted these days.

Dirk Manley was happy for the adventures he's had the past 30 days, which included a last minute trip to Saudi Arabia, a narrow escape from Oman before travel was shut down, getting back to the USA just in time for Christmas, elk hunting with his brother (yes, they got one), and night skiing at Bogus.  Whew!

PUT THIS IN YOUR CALENDAR
Have you missed a meeting because you can't find the zoom link? It's the same from week to week. Put it in your recurring calendar listing so it's handy! https://zoom.us/j/96000274800

As always, if possible, please name your profile and consider turning on your video while in the meeting. It helps us ensure security (no Zoom bombers), and helps you engage with your fellow Rotarians.

Membership
IMPORTANT NOTE: For prospective members who sign up while we're meeting remotely, the club will waive the one-time membership fee and the community benefit charge (which, while we're meeting remotely, supports meals for Interfaith Sanctuary), email Membership Chair Richard Davey for more details.

More About Your Membership
While we are meeting remotely, we will continue to include the standard meal charge of $77.34 in our bi-monthly invoices, only now it will be called "community benefit," to reflect where the money is really going. When we cannot meet over meals, your payment helps us keep our lease on the meeting room and storage space, and also benefits our community (most of our meals are donated to Interfaith Sanctuary). This all enables a seamless return to our in-person meetings once it is safe.

For those who continue to pay for this community benefit thank you.

If you are not able to catch a live zoom meeting, email president@boiserotary.org for a link to a recording of the meeting later.
