Strong Finish for the Rotary Decade

The last two Rotary events of the decade were filled with fun & service.

We held the club Christmas party during our usual lunch hour.  With trivia, caroling, & a service project led by 7-year-old Cameron Tulloch, members couldn't help but leave the program with smiles on their faces.  Cameron has a huge heart for service & loves helping the homeless.  He & his mother Jessica Tulloch came up with "blessing bags," which are small kits full of useful products for homeless citizens.  They keep both family cars stocked & hand out the blessing bags when they see someone in need.

Cameron caught the eye of KTVB's Maggie O'Mara & he was featured as a 7's Hero.  Our club did its part by buying materials & assembling over 70 blessing bags during our Christmas party.  In appreciation for his service, President Kevin made Cameron an honorary Rotarian for the day, issuing him a red badge & pin.  When being tucked in that night, Cameron told his mom, "today is officially the best day of my life."  If you'd like to continue supporting Cameron's cause, his GoFundMe page is gf.me/u/wwqt23 .

The very next day, Rotarians were on the streets of downtown Boise ringing bells for the Salvation Army.  Led by "The Ringer" Tom Stitzel, we rallied several volunteers & raised a good sum of money.  Tom will share the final tally in January.

President's Message

"Rotary is the best part of my week."  "There's a real positive energy in Rotary right now."  I hear statements like these almost weekly & they're the best kinds of compliments a president can receive.

Rotary has undergone several changes this year, all in an effort to boost the member value proposition.  Progress can be attributed to our Board of Directors (my Rotary "Dream Team"), our many talented Committee Chairs, our newest members who are jumping into the deep end, & our long-time Rotarians who have provided tremendous support & guidance.

Enthusiasm is contagious & it's going around the club right now.  The fun continues in 2020!
