Doug Holloway-Boise Parks & Rec – Crescent Rim Stairs and More
Doug Holloway is director of the Boise City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Boise Parks and Recreation maintains more than 90 developed parks across the city, approximately 210 miles of Ridge to Rivers trails in the Boise Foothills, 25 miles of the Boise River Greenbelt pathway and thousands of acres of open space. The department’s recreational facilities include Zoo Boise, two municipal golf courses, pools, Idaho IceWorld and more.
The department offers affordable classes and camps for all ages and abilities. From art to drama, dance classes to fitness programs, educational nature tours to special events. It provides school-based community centers to serve children after school and an Adaptive Recreation program that serves children and adults with disabilities.
Holloway worked as superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the department for 11 years prior to taking on the Director’s role. Before working for the city, Holloway worked in the health and fitness industry, at Micron Technology, at Kelly Services staffing company, and as director for the Payette County Recreation District. He also served on the Boise City Parks and Recreation Commission from 1995 to 1999.
Holloway earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Boise State University.
