VENUE CHANGE!! Ivan Castello, President and CEO Idaho Council on Hispanic Affairs: El Dia de los Muertos
ATTENTION: VENUE CHANGE. For this meeting only we will be meeting at Jalapenos Restaurant located at:
Ivan Castillo is a proud native of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, who has called Idaho’s Treasure Valley home for the past 28 years. At just 19 years old, Ivan made the bold move to Idaho with his new bride, Angie, despite not knowing English, to begin building their family. Today, Ivan and Angie are the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from 15 to 26, and grandparents to their cherished grandson, Sebastian.
Ivan’s journey was filled with challenges, but inspired by the lessons from his father, he embraced hard work and action as the keys to success. His resilience, compassion, and unwavering positivity have been cornerstones of his success, guiding him in his personal and professional endeavors.
Currently, Ivan leads a successful real estate team, operates a construction business, and dedicates his time to various community organizations in the Treasure Valley. His leadership includes serving as Chairman for the Idaho Commission of Hispanic Affairs (appointed by Governors Butch Otter and Brad Little), Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Idaho Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Founder/ Past President of the Idaho Hispanic Chamber Foundation. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Idaho Latino Scholarship Foundation and an executive board member of the College of Western Idaho Foundation.
Ivan’s love for creativity spans across many areas, from crafting and costume-making to cooking (with a reputation as a great chef). In his free time, he can be found golfing, fishing, reading, or even entertaining on stage. With his natural charisma, Ivan has a magnetic ability to connect with people and captivate audiences, yet he remains grounded, always describing himself as a “servant leader.”
For Ivan, success is defined by his ability to uplift others, a philosophy that shines through in his work, his community service, and his family life. His greatest joy comes from mentoring his children and spending quality time with his family. Ivan lives by the mottos: “You have to fail,” “You’re not allowed to quit while you’re on a learning curve,” and “You can only be you.”
