A predictive outlook for the 2026 fire season!
Jim is a Bureau of Land Mgmt (BLM) meteorologist at the National Interagency Fire
Center (NIFC) Predictive Services unit for the past five years. Prior to his current
assignment to NIFC, he was involved with fire management for over 25 years, starting
as an Incident Meteorologist (IMET) at the National Weather Service in Elko, Nevada,
then in Reno before moving to his current position. He has had over 50 deployments to
wildfires from 2002-2020 all across the West, including several in central and southern
Idaho.
