The Rotary Club of Boise is proud to support a newly approved Rotary Global Grant project in coastal Manabí, Ecuador, focused on regenerative cacao agroforestry and climate-resilient livelihoods for smallholder farmers.

With a total project budget of $230,664, the grant is already being implemented in partnership with the Rotary Club of Guayaquil Astillero. The local project team has completed a Train the Trainers program and is now coordinating the delivery of plants for farmers’ plots.

This initiative helps farmers restore degraded land, increase income, and reduce dependence on chemical inputs through diversified cacao agroforestry systems that integrate food, timber, and biomass species.

Through this international partnership, the Rotary Club of Boise is supporting sustainable, community-driven solutions that strengthen livelihoods and restore ecosystems in Ecuador.
