This past Saturday, members of our Rotary Club rolled up their sleeves and headed to Warm Springs Care Farm for a morning of meaningful volunteer work. While some organized the grain room, others cleaned the goat area, and a dedicated group tackled weeding the yard. Together, we contributed to a wonderful community resource that provides therapeutic programs for individuals ages 5 and up.
A Therapeutic Oasis
Warm Springs Care Farm is not a petting zoo; it’s a working therapeutic care farm that offers a variety of programs designed to nurture personal growth and well-being. From animal care and art workshops to music classes, gardening, and yoga/movement/breath sessions, the farm serves as a holistic environment for learning and healing.
In partnership with Warm Springs Counseling Center, the farm also offers one-on-one farm-based therapy sessions, allowing participants to connect with animals and nature in a unique and transformative way. Our volunteer efforts help ensure that this vital resource continues to thrive.
Our Volunteer Day
As we arrived, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and purpose. Here’s a snapshot of what our members accomplished:
- Organizing the Grain Room: A group set to work organizing the grain room, ensuring that supplies were neatly arranged and easily accessible. This not only streamlined operations but also helped staff save time in caring for the animals.
- Cleaning the Goat Area: Another team focused on cleaning the goat area. With the goats looking on curiously, we swept, scrubbed, and refreshed their living space, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for these beloved animals.
- Weeding the Yard: Meanwhile, some members worked diligently in the yard, weeding and clearing spaces to promote a healthier garden. This effort supports the farm’s commitment to sustainable gardening and helps enhance the overall aesthetic of the property.
Giving Back
In addition to our hands-on work, we were thrilled to donate a table saw to Warm Springs Care Farm. This tool will not only aid in various projects around the farm but also provide opportunities for teaching woodworking skills to kids in future programs. It’s a fantastic way to blend creativity and hands-on learning, empowering young participants to express themselves through craft.
A Heartfelt Thanks
A big thank you to all the Rotary members who participated in this fulfilling day! Your hard work and dedication truly make a difference in our community. We encourage everyone to continue supporting Warm Springs Care Farm and explore the incredible programs they offer.
