Mary Bringman-Advocating for residents in long-term care

The Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging provides a variety of services and support to help assist seniors, caregivers, and people with disabilities in achieving and maintaining the highest possible level of independence. The agency provides access to federal and state funded services for older residents and family caregivers living in southwestern Idaho including Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Valley, and Washington counties. It administers federal Older Americans Act funding, partners with community-based organizations to provide congregate meal services, caregiver support, elder abuse prevention, health promotion, information and assistance, legal support, nutrition, senior centers, and transportation services.

Mary Bringman is a Long-Term Care Ombudsman and the Volunteer Coordinator for the Ombudsman Program for the Agency. She is a resident advocate for those who reside in Assisted Living and Nursing Home Facilities. She lives in Meridian with husband of two and half years. Mary enjoys exploring Idaho, biking on the greenbelt, hiking, reading Christian fiction, trying new restaurants and is active in her church.
